2007 beta 2 and Vista RC1

Neal

I am downloading Vista RC1 right now and I see a warning about RC1 and 2007

A technical refresh of the 2007 Office system Beta 2 is needed for those
interested in using it with Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 (RC1). If you
want to run the two products together, we recommend coming back at a future
time to get the technical refresh.

I am just wondering what is the issue because I want to do a fresh install
of RC1 from Beta2 and if I have to go back to office XP for a little I will
but I am just wondering what the issue is and will office 2007 not work at
all or is there just some parts of office that will not work.

Thanks for any help on this thought I would ask before I install

I have Office 2007 Beta 2 and Windows Vista RC-1 running fine here. I
think the warning is to stave off the reporting of bugs with the combination
as many, many bugs have been fixed in Office 2007 Beta 2 TR.

Just my opinion - not based on anything except the messages I am getting
when reporting bugs to the database.

I NEVER import - just reuse the Outlook.pst file. In Outlook,
File->Open->OUtlook Data File.

Importing/exporting is for "translating" non-Outlook files into a format
that Outlook can understand. Do you "Import" a .doc file into Word?

I have always imported from one version to another before, and I did do it
just the one time with Vista 5472.. 5536 and RC1 would not let me import at
all.. I will try your way

Import isn't exactly the most reliable functionality in Outlook. Avoid
using it at all cost :)

Not that it necessarily means anything for sure, but I'm rather interested
that they put this on the main Office '07 beta page; as a non-tester that
downloaded long before they started charging $1.50 a pop, I'm still hoping
that b2tr is made available to all of us running the software.

I did a fresh install of Vista RC1 and I cannot get Office 2007 to load. It
fails in the same spot everytime. I've tried compatibility mode, install as
admin and nothing works so far. Any suggestions?
