2007 Beta compatibility pack problem

Hi,

I have earlier installed Office 2007beta and created and saved a few
documents.
I then removed the Beta and now I can't open the files save under .docx (I
am now using Office 2003). The error message keeps asking me to download the
check and download the latest version of compatibility pack which I have but
it still won't open and it keeps asking me to check for new version. I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the latest compatibility pack and still no go.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The release version of the Office Compatibility Pack cannot open files
saved with Office 2007 beta versions. I suggest you install an Office
2007 Trial, open all your files and resave them (make sure to use save
as) as doc files.
