When one of our PMs opens a project, the cross project link dialog box
pops open (which I now know is due to a setting for the project).
From what I understand, you generally Accept any lines that show any
differences between the two projects.
Question #1: There is an ALL button that doesn't seem to anything.
Can this be used to accept all external changes?
Question #2: Also....if you select the "Automatically accept external
data" option and save the project (as an enterprise project in project
server), does the project have to be opened again before the external
data impact takes effect?
Say the project(s) are published to project server and the team
members enter progress in My Tasks each day and submit each week. We
have a job that runs each night that republishes the projects (it
actually invokes a publish process for each project in the
database). In this case, with the "Automatically accept external
data" option checked, will the schedule continue to be updated
correctly without PM intervention via the client?
Thanks,
Andy Novak
