2007 Email Signatures & PNG Files

I have included a PNG image as my signature for Outlook 2007; however when I
send the email it is converted to a JPG and resolution is lost. Also, if I
attach a BMP image it is converted to a PNG file. How do I get Outlook 2007
to send my images in the file format originially specified?
