[2007] Enterprise custom fields appear twice

For a new installation of PS2007 I have added some enterprise custom fields,
using PWA.

After that I have opened project mpp files (not using import) and saved them
in the Projectserver db. Some of the local custom project fields do have the
same name as the enterprise custom project fields. After restarting PP2007
and reopening the project I see in the Project Information that the custom
field names appear twice. They are different, because I can store different
values in a date field and after re-opening the different dates are shown.
For custom fields with lookup tables only one shows the lookup values, the
other is empty.

Any suggestions,

Marcel.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your response. I did what you asked and cleared the local cache
files, and I'm sorry to say that didn't help. I probably should also mention
that the double custom fields only appear for existing projects (opened a
local mpp and saved it as a project to project server). For new projects
there are no double custom fields. Is there a way to delete the double fields
in the existing projects.

Marcel.

Marcel:

You should never open an mpp file and do a Save As to the server. Instead,
use the Import Project to Enterprise from Tools > Enterprise Options. Were
these plans that existed in a prior version or different instance? That
would explain the issue. You need to use the mapping feature in the Import
wizard to get the correct results.

Hello Gary,

I tried to import a mpp (which was indeed a MSP2003 enterprise project), but
the problem remains. I have used the mapping feature for resources and tsaks
fields, but I see no option to map the local project custom fields to the
Enterprise custom fields.
