2007 Enterprise Global settings

edI used PWA, clicked on Enterprise Global, click on Configure Project
Professional, which in turn checked out and opened the Enterprise Global in
Project Pro. I select Tools, then Options and select the Schedule tab. I do
NOT have the box checked for 'New tasks are effort driven'. However, when I
create a new project, the effort driven flag is selected. Is there another
setting I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have,

In the future, please post your Project Server 2007 questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question,
you cannot use the Enterprise Global file the way you wish. Instead, the
Enterprise Global is your organization's "library" of custom enterprise
Views, Tables, Filters, Groups,Reports, etc. Project Server 2007 uses the
Enterprise Global file to rapidly distribute these custom objects to every
user, but it DOES NOT distribute Options settings, such as the "New tasks
are effort driven" option. Instead, you must ask each user to individually
specify those settings on their own PC. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize I was in the wrong group and will
pay closer attention to that in the future. I did however, notice that there
is a 'set as default' button on the schedule tab. After setting that, new
projects are created with the effort driven flag cleared. Thanks again!

Do know that using the Set As Default button will only affect projects
created on YOUR computer. It still will not affect anyone else using
Microsoft Project Professional in your organization. Hope this helps.
