2007 Excel Data Validation

I created a LIST Data Validation (I typed the entries into the window) for an
entire column. When I paste into the column or download data into the column,
the Data Validation "goes away" (is removed by the resulting paste or
download.

Anyway to "keep" the Data Validation?
