2007 File Sharing Workspace deletes files

Don

I have a Groove 2007 File Sharing Workspace. Under the main folder, I have
several sub-folders. When I renamed one of the sub-folders, which contained
7 files, 4 of the files got deleted. I was able to restore the missing files
from the Recycle Bin. I renamed the same sub-folder again just to
double-check myself and files were deleted again. What is happening here?
This error is reproducible, but I cannot figure out why Groove would choose
to delete files? Please Help!!!

Hi Don -

I was able to rename a sub-folder without any problems. I just tested this
using the latest Groove running on XP SP2.

When I rename the main shared folder, The sharing is removed but the files
are not deleted.

I'm at a loss as to why the behaviour you are seeing differs from what I see,

Mark, thanks for trying a test. Here is some more info (sorry for not
including it earlier.) Running Groove 2007 on Vista Business SP1. The
Groove user who is experiencing the problem is not a Manager of this
particular FSW but rather a Participant. Participant for this FSW has been
configured to allow all activities other than "Modify Permissions". It's a
really crazy behaviour...i'm baffled.

Maybe someone else with this same config could try a test??????

Oh..and as far as folder structure, the main (root) folder is shared, so
everything underneath is shared by default. When I change the name of the
sub-folder, it does not affect the sharing.
