2007 Freezing when using E-mail Options

Anyone suffering this? When I try to amend my e-mail options Outlook freezes,
sends a report to its Boss, restarts and freezes if I try again. All other
stuff seems to work ok.
I am using XP.
Any assistance most welcome.
