I have been looking into this for some time. I found one post that stated
that if you have a rule which moves the mail out of the Inbox folder you will
not see the Mail Icon in the system tray. They sugested to create a rule or
edit the existing one to display the envelope icon. I cannot find this in my
rules! I did find a way to make this rule however display the Desktop Alert
window. But my issue is if after 30 seconds (max setting) I miss this email
I never will see that I had a new message. If I am missing something please
fill me in.
One sugestion would be if you are turning off the ability to display the
mail icon for folders that mail was moved into, then have a setting to always
display the Desktop Alert. I have also played with the new item display
window but this is not a good solution for me. I just want the Mail Icon
back..... Is that too much to ask? Maybe give users the option to turn it
off rather then figuring out a way to somehow turn it on. (Same went for
playing a sound... I found that one however in my new rule settings.)
Sorry for the long post. (Side note the mail icon is NOT being hidden in
the system tray I have that already set to "Always show" It just never does.)
