When I try to install this update, I get error 78f. What does that
mean, aand what can I do to install it? This is a brand new computer.

Two possible solutions I've seen:

1) Re-install Office. You may need to uninstall, reboot and then reinstall,
if the re-install doesn't work.

2) Have any data (not music) CD in the drive when you do the update.

I understand that MS is aware of this issue. Please post back if one of
these works for you.

I am having the same problem, and neither has helped. I even downloaded the
SP to a jump drive and tried to install it from there. I really think there
may be an issue the download.

Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I'll be dog-gone. I have been very busy, and only tonight gave
it a try. I shut down the computer, put an old Microsoft Works disc in
the drive, turned it on, and tried the update. It worked. So, for the
first time, Windows Update reports that my computer is up-to-date. So,
do try some sort of a program disc.
