2007 OFFICE HOME AND STUDENT

I just purchased 2007 Home and Student to install on a new Vista
PC. I also want to install on my old XP PC and my Laptop. Sounds OK,
however, the license for 3 PCs excludes commercial, or revenue generating
business activities. I have a small home based part tiime businesss so I
assume I can't legally use OHS on my 3 computers. Can anyone confirm my
assumptions or does anyone think otherwise? Finally, If I can't use OHS,
legally allow 3 computers and br OK for my little business? Thanks.

The Home & Student version is not supposed to be used in the manner you
suggest (a small home based business) but there probably won't be any cops
kicking down the door to stop you. It is your own consciousness that
matters in this respect.

This is the only "publicly" obtainable retail version of Office (Enterprise
version excepted), that can be installed on more than two computers (one
desktop and one portable device used by the same person). Most retail
versions that permit the main and portable use of the software restrict it
to being used by one person and not at the same time.

You to be "legal", depending on the software you need on the three computers
and who would be using the computers, would need to buy two or three retail
copies of Office. See here for the various versions and the programs they
contain:
