2007 Office trial locked prematurely

I purchased a new Acer Extensa laptop 2 days ago. It has a 60 day trial
of Microsoft office 2007.

Today, all my Word documents are locked. And it keeps prompting me to
activate. It seems as if "it" thinks my trial is used up, though it has
only been 48hrs.

I want to use my full 60 days, and I want to access my damn documents.

Is there anyway to correct this?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I have seen this before. The retailer from where you purchased your computer from had the computer probably running as a demo and thereby using up your time allotted for the Trial of Office

Peter,

That certainly seems like a plausible explanation. Thank you for your
response.

I guess I could go back to Best Buy and argue the point. But it really
isn't worth it.

I found a docx converter, and now I can access the documents online
using Google docs.

Soon I will either pony up for microsoft's fascist product, or install
Open Office and uninstall that Office trash.

Thanks again.

Happy New Year.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! So, you wanted to try the trial but it is a fascist product. Seems someone has some inner conflicts to work out.

Um, no.

The software locked me out. With no explanation. In violation of it
own stated terms. And with no avenue for recourse or repair.

The trial was included in the price of the computer. I paid for it (
had no choice to a purchase a computer without it).

I have now paid for something that doesn't work.

Maybe it isn't fascist. Maybe it is just a worthless piece of crap. Or
more likely, it is both

The trial is a FREE trial that must either be purchased after the trial is over or removed and your own software installed. What about FREE makes you think that you paid a single penny for it?
