2007 SP2 installed PDF/XPS support but not ODF!

Here's official confirmation that 2007 SP2 includes ODF support:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA102816191033.aspx

However, I installed it on an update-free Office 2007 in Windows XP SP3, and
only got PDF and XPS support, no ODF (OpenDocument format)!

I have neither any option to save to OpenDocument files nor any option to
load them. I do get both options for PDF/XPS files (unlike before installing
2007 SP2!).

Nevertheless, 2007 SP2 did associate ODF files with Office 2007. When I
click any via Windows Explorer, it doesn't work though.

Actually, somebody else already posted this in these forums months ago.
Alas, no one answered him correctly.

Please help fix this.

Thanks!

I asked to solve the issue, not the symptom. I already know about the two
available plugins. But 2007 SP2 is supposed to make then unneeded. Why not in
my (and others') case?

Thanks!

Next time before being rude to someone that is helping you ,you should check the
link that was supplied and what is included within

See under Documentation and then under ODF Add-in Documentation and select needed
Add In that does not work for you and install

You are very rude yourself, my friend. I am in a Microsoft forum pointing a
problem in Office 2007 SP2, not asking for third-party support via an
external plugin. What if something is broken in my Office and needs fixing? I
again repeat my statement that you're like a doctor insisting on fixing a
symptom.

For what its worth, I am unable to duplicate your issue. Here is what I
tried 3 times with no luck to end up in your situation...

1) Install Windows XP with SP3 (Volume License media)

2) Install Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise (Volume License media)

3) Install SP2 for MS Office 2007

4) Started Microsoft Word 2007 and then checked under the Orb > Save As and
verified that OpenDocument Text was an option to pick.

I believe you are going to be a lot more descriptive on how to duplicate
reliably before someone can explain whatever it is going on with your
install.

Your steps are just the right steps. I did nothing further. Obviously it
doesn't happen to most users or it would have been a famous bug. But it did
happen in numerous computers and already surfaced around these forums months
ago.

Solved! What I had installed was the English SP2. It was solved after
uninstalling it in favor of a localized SP2 (in the language of my Office's
GUI).

So much for globalism.
