Hello scott,
Project 2007 has support for *.MDB files but not *.accdb files. From
help topic "File formats supported by Microsoft Office Project":

Microsoft Access Database (MDB) A database format used by the
Microsoft Office Access database program which uses the .mdb
extension. *****You cannot save tot he mdb format using Microsoft
Office Project 2007, but you can open project that are stored in MDB
files.*********
