2007 vs 2003 question please

I need wording help. We have upgraded to Office 2007 and I have a LOT of
excel sheets that are fairly complicated. I have a board that many say they
cannot (?) download the compatability software and therefore want me to save
EVERYTHING back in 2003 and send it to them in that. This is just crazy. I
have tried to explain that I could lose information, etc. and they still
want me to do it. Can someone give me some wording to convince these people
that this is just a stupid thing to ask of me. Thanks

I too belong to an organization and report to a board that probably would
react the same way as yours has. (In my case, we are volunteers and pay for
our own software.) I'm afraid that you should have saved your files as 2003
from the start. You cannot assume that everyone will be thrilled to have to
download anything to be able to read your files. (Many of my members still
have dial-up and many are less than computer-savvy.)

Thanks for your input. I to 'report' to the board, however after asking
around today it is only 2 people that cannot open these files, 17 others have
downloaded the fix easily. These two are just not computer savy and want us
to go to double trouble just for them...that is the frustrating part. I have
offered to come help them or to fax their documents. Thanks again.

One additional idea: Do the recipients need to get the file in Excel format?
Do they have to work with any of the data? If not, I'd just save as a PDF
(you might have to download this Office 2007 add-in) and then ANYONE can look
at your attachments, as long as they have Adobe Reader installed.
