2007 Word Templates

T

Theresa

Hi:

Can anyone tell me why, in Word 2007, if I create a document based on a
template on a netowrk drive, then save the document to my local drive, when I
close the document and then re-open it, it appears as if it is opening the
template on the network drive.

Thanks,

Theresa

Because there is a connection between the document and the template it's
based on. if you want to break the connection then on the Developer tab
click Document Template and delete the reference to the template on the
network in the Document Template text box.

If you don’t see the Developer tab, click the Office Button, click Word
Options and in the Popular section you'll see the option to "Show Developer
tab in the Ribbon".
