2007Beta2 - folder names disappearing, bug?

P

PatrickV

When mail is saved in my 'Deleted Items'or 'Junk Mail', the folder name is
disappearing. When I delete the mails in these folders, the names are back
again.

I do not know if it happens in all the folders, I did not test it.

I know of one person who saw the same problem and solved it by removing Office and reinstalling.

Hi and thank you for your reply.
I did a reinstall of Office and solved the Deleted Items issue. The Junk
E-mail folder name still disappears when an email is added.

At least email is going into your junk e-mail folder. Since upgrading to the
beta2, no more junk is getting caught by Outlook.

I will go look for said switch. Although now I have bigger problems. I was
being a user when I installed the beta and simply hit the "Upgrade" button on
the install page. Well, it doesn't remove the old apps, it simply installs
the new ones, leaving me with two Outlooks, (which Windows doesn't really
like.) However, removing the old set via add/remove programs has caused the
new Outlook to sputter. Now everytime it starts, the install wizard launches
trying to install Outlook 2003 (it had been pushed out via policy.) This does
not happen with the other Office apps however, such as Word or powerpoint.
they, so far, seem to be behaving properly.

Starting with the "reset folders" switch also works.

After two reinstallations and a reboot, all issues seems to be solved.

Removing both Office 2007 and Office 2003, then reinstalling Office 2007 should solve the problems (assuming you don't have a policy trying to push Office 2003 back onto your system again).

Finally have it working. It seems that there were two seperate policies
pushing out Office 2003. Once that was fixed I was able to get the beta
installed properly.
