I have a P4 computer using Office 2000. When I click on the Word icon to go
into the program I am getting the following error. Can someone please help
me get rid of it.
Microsoft Visual Basic
Run time error -2147467259 (80004005)
Method Privateprofilestring of object system failed.

After this message comes up I can close it and work in Word but would like
to get rid of the problem. Please advise

You have a problem with an add-in or an AutoExec macro. See section 4 of
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm for how to get rid
of the offending macro.

By the way, your message subject line looks like something spammers put
there (the first number is the right number of digits to be a US telephone

What finally worked was I had to go in to program files/microsoft...startup
and delete the template. When I did that all was ok. Thanks for the
assistance.
