24 Hours Calendar and Duration

When i change my calendar to 24 Hours, my duration for the task has changed
and i dont understand that it is working. For example a Task1 has 4 sub task
with start date 7/18/2008 and End Date 7/25/2008. But the Task1 duration is
showing 21 days. Can you explain this or am i doing something wrong.
