24 HR CALENDER AND TEMPLATE

Platform: PS 2007, SPI, INF UPDATE (EPM)

I would like to have 2 calendars for users to use. 1st is the standard 9-5
Mon-Fri in addition to this we want to have a 24 hr calendar for smaller time
sensitive projects. These projects will be to monitor and maintain 24 hr
work.

Ideally I would like to create an Enterprise template that can do this. I
know in PWA (as admin) I can create multiple calendars, but how can I tie
this with an Enterprise Template so that the users can use specific calendars
for these types of projects (via templates).

Also what is the impact on PWA updates by team members as we are tracking
via "Actual work done and work remaining" method.

Thanks.

For the first calendar, edit the enterprise Standard calendar and set your
working schedule. Create a second calendar and call it the 24x7 calendar.
Set the working time from 12:00 AM to 12:00 AM. When you create an
enterprise project template, the system will automatically set the Standard
calendar as the Project Calendar (Project - Project Information) and the
Nonworking Time Calendar (Format - Timescale - Nonworking Time). Users can
select the 24x7 calendar as the Project Calendar by clicking Project -
Project Information and set the Nonworking Time Calendar by clicking
Format - Timescale - Nonworking Time. If they change the Project Calendar,
they also need to change the Nonworking Time Calendar as well. By the way,
the Nonworking Time Calendar is what displays in the actual Gantt Chart
itself. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

I created a 24 Hr calender and when I set the Working time to 12 AM t0 12 AM
it revert to 12AM- 1AM. How can this be resolved.

Thanks.

After you enter the 2nd 12:00 AM time, you need to press the Enter key to
"lock in" this value before you click the OK button. This is a known bug in
Project Professional 2007 that probably won't be fixed because the
workaround is so simple. Hope this helps.
