2nd level menus don't work (Mac)

System 9.2.1, Word 2001. For some reason, I can use the
regular pulldown menus in word, but when I try to use the
expanded menus, nothing expands. For instance, under Tools,
I can't use Track Changes, or Macros. Under Insert I can't
select a Break. The only ones that do work are the Fonts.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

I'd know what to tell you if this were a Windows version of Word. As it is,
you'd be better off in microsoft.public.mac.office.word.
