3 Application errors

In Office Pro 2000 I have encountered 3 problems. 1. While trying to copy a formula using relative cell references, the value returned is the same value as the original cell although the appropriate formula appears in the edit box at the top of the page. 2. I am unable to edit comments previously inserted in cells. 3. I am unable to insert new comments in cells. In reference to problems 2 & 3 the appropriate icons are simply not appearing in their respective drop down menus
I have done an uninstall/reinstall with no change. These problems do not occur in a new file
