Hi
I'm creating a 3 panel double sided A4 landscape brochure
How do I ensure the 3 panels have identical widths.
I have used layout guides to create the panels, but when folded the
two sides don't line up properly?
Using 2007

Any pointers appreciated

Are your margins the same on both sides? This can be a printer issue. When you
create a landscape brochure the largest margin limitation is on the right. (See
Ed's web page, http://ed.mvps.org/Static.aspx?=Publisher/horidiag ) When you
turn the page over to print on the back you need to adjust the publication
margin.

I have a sample 3 panel brochure on my web page that gives you an idea how to
adjust for margins. It may help. There are three versions, setup02 can be read
in 03 and 07.

Thanks Mary
My ruler guides are in metric whereas yours appear to be in inches
How do I change the guides from metric to imperial?

I realized my mistake as soon as I posted. You are using A4 stock, so all my
measurements will be out of whack for you. You can change the present
publication to inches in the Options menu. (Tools). A4 stock is narrower and
longer than Letter stock. 8.267" x 11.69" versus 8.5" x 11"
Publisher has brochure templates for A4 here
http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/templates/results.aspx?qu=brochure&sc=4&av=ZPB

There is a template here
http://www.stationery-direct.co.uk/free-print-templates.php
and here
http://www.office.xerox.com/small-business-templates/brochures/enus.html
These are not for Publisher, but it will give you help on the layout

Hi Mary
If I was using and outside printer, would I make all 3 panels a
similar width?

I'd consult the printer person. I have a few boxes of blank brochure paper
(Letter stock) the panels are not equal. One panel is always a bit narrower;
it makes folding neater.
