3D Area series labeling

In Excel 2002, in a 3D Area chart the series labels appear
in the centre of each series. I am unable to move them.
I cannot see the ones at the back of the plot area,
because they are hidden by the front series. If you
rotate the chart , you can see them partly but this is not
a solution.

This seems to work better in Excel 2000.

If I move (or format in any other way) the label of a
series, it disappears. To make it appear again, I have to
turn series labels off and on, thus putting them back in
the default place.

Help!!

Another reason to avoid charts with 3D formatting "features". The 3D
charts don't offer as many options for location of data labels, as
you've found out, and they also have a great tendency to distort the
data being charted. Won't a 2D area chart work as well?

The shape of the areas seems to look better with the 3D
area, we'll play around with the 2D chart and see how it
goes. Maybe just using the Legend will suffice.

Thanks for the link.
