4 conditional formats?

Hi,

I need to use conditional formatting in an excel spreadsheet, but there are
four variables:

between 5% : 10% = amber colour
greater than 10% = red colour

between -5% : -10% = amber colour
less than -10% = red colour

Using conditional formatting I can only use 3 variables. Is there a way I
can do this?

set the cells to a default colours, then 3 conditions.

you could actually get away with just two conditions.

Formula is: =ABS(A1)>10 format red
Formula is: =ABS(A1)>=5 format amber

Obviously this only works if it's the same numbers either side.

Along the lines of Trevors response but allowing different positive and
negative values

=Or(A1>=10, A1<=-10) Format Red
=Or(A1>=5, A1<=-5) Format Amber
