Is D: a _formatted_ partition? Can you store files there when in Windows? Is
the folder you are trying to use marked as a shared folder in some way?
Permissions are a networking and operating system problem. The only thing
they have to do with Word is that they can cause problems. A similar problem
is walking from your car to your home you have your arms full of green
beans. You get to the door and realize you don't have a key. You can't get
in the door. What's wrong with those green beans anyway?
On the other hand, Word sometimes gives out error messages that have nothing
to do with what is going on. I don't know if this is one of those times.

I've posted this 3 times before, but never got an answer. Hope
someone
can help.
I'm using XP Home and Word 2000. Periodically (at least once a day),
I
get a save error. It happens only on documents that I am editing. The
error is:
"Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error
(D:\...\[document name] ...)
D is a parition on the hard drive.
I have Word configured to always make a backup.
What's going on here and what should I do?
