5 colour job

I know i usually use Indesign but am limited to using publisher because of
tight deadlines and non graphic designers also working on the files... What a
pain... I am guessing through looking at others comments posted that there is
no way possible to do this? Why would publisher have a commercial print
setting which allows you to have spot colours if you can't even take it to a
commercial printers in PDF format!!!!

Of course, if you had explained that the specifications for the job
meant it couldn't be done in Publisher, and had explained that long ago,
you wouldn't be in this pickle.

Redo it in InD.

Excellent question. Maybe an MVP will answer that. Probably not,
though--because what you're trying to do simply can't be done.

Turn it to PDF with what you have, then use Pitstop or whatever to
change the necessary elements to spot color.

Need some help with that?

Yea i guess so but i did not know that this would be an issue till now! Seems
so stupid to me that it doesn't work. Oh well i am going to turn my spot to
black and then the printers will send it as black but use the spot colour
instead of black. the other pages will have to be in CMYK - the spot green
will be in CMYK on these pages and slightly different but oh well what can i
do? Deadlines tomorrow so ill have to make do!

Thanks for you advice

Actually it can be done, just not as a composite job. You have to print the
publication as separations. Doing that won't necessarily give you what your
print provider needs.

It can be fixed once it's made into a PDF. It may not be an *easy* fix, but
it is reasonably possible.
