500 'ST' command not understood error

I'm using FrontPage 2000. I'm using DotEasy as my website host. I have a
website that I've been using for a couple years now. I had DotEasy's
FrontPage extensions but deleted them from the service since they cost more
and I don't need them (I don't think). Anyway, after I stopped paying for
them, I was able to update my website without any problems. (I did remove
my hit counter because I read somewhere that it was a FP extension and
wouldn't work).
Anyway, as I said I've not had any trouble updating my pages for the last 6
months or so.
Steps I've done:
Contacted DotEasy. They said the website is uploading properly and uploaded
a test page to my site.
Uninstalled FrontPage and reinstalled it.
I'm using "ftp://ftp.websitename.com" (with actual name inserted) as the
publish to location which has
worked before.
I'm still getting the "500 ST command not understood error" when I try to
publish. It can find the list of files on my computer but when it go to
"list files on server" thats when I get the error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm able to access the site by FTP client. But am having trouble replacing
some pages with the new ones. Don't seem to be updating properly. I've
been manually deleting one page at a time and replacing it. This seems to
be working...but I'm not sure yet. Will report back shortly.

Hi Jon,

You are FTPing the site I assume because with the extension removed that
would be the only method to upload.
