501 option not recognized - Can not publish

When I try to publish my site I get "501 option not reconized". It published
fine the other day and I tried to back out all my changes but still get the
same message and I never get a view of the remote sites files. I am using FTP
to transfer and have everything the same as it was yesterday when it worked.
I can not find an explanation of this error code. I have FP 2003 and am
up-to-date with patches. Anyone know what this is?

No but I am now able to publish and since I did nothing different here I
assume it was on the ISP side.
