I have a website and domain that I use for several email accounts. I have
been using Outlook Express 6.0 for several years to access my email using the
server addresses as follows:
POP3 = pop3.mydomain.com
SMTP = mail.mydomain.com
I have never had a problem. I recently purchased Office Enterprise and
wanted to start using Outlook 2007 for email and its many functions. I
configured it last night using the same settings as Outlook Express, but when
I tried to send an email I got an error 544 server relay error.
As I understand or have been told, I have to use my ISP outgoing mail server
(SMTP address) to send, but use my domain POP3 address.
Can anyone confirm if this is true and, if so, why it will work in Outlook
Express and not Outlook?
Thanks Much,
