552 Transfer failed - publishing to ftp site.

Mike Higa

Hello,

I've been getting the following error when I publish my
website to an ftp site:

"552 transfer failed"

The target server is a Windows NT machine. I don't know
what ftp server is running but I know that it is not the
IIS version of ftp server.

When I check the log files, the error does not always
happen at the same place. And sometimes, when I restart
FrontPage, I'm able to publish the website, but this is
very rare.

My FrontPage version is 2002 - sp 2.

What does this error mean, and how can I work around this
problem?

Thank you,

Mike

Use a 3rd Party FTP application.

Any suggestions for third party software?

By the way, what does the 553 error code mean?

Mike
