60-day trial of MS Office 2003 causing Generic Host Process Error

I downloaded a 60-day free trial of MS Office 2003 from the Microsoft website
on 8/21/06. On 8/22/06, I started receiving "Generic Host Process Error
Message" on EVERY boot-up and my Microsoft Security alerts me that my virus
scanner has been disabled. When I try to uninstall Office 2003, I get
"msiexec.exe encountered a problem and must close". Then, a Windows
Installer box pops up, stating it has terminated, then a box with "fatal
error" pops up. I am able to close all of these boxes but I still can't get
this trial version of Office 2003 off of my computer. I've tried to run the
Microsoft Application Recovery on the program, I've tried to re-install the
program and I get the same error messages. When researching the Generic Host
Process error on Microsoft, I found that they thought it was a faulty printer
driver. I have since uninstalled ALL printers on my system and cleared all
dll files pertaining to them. I've ran four separate virus scanners and
registry cleaners and all to no effect. I cannot believe that I've
downloaded a Microsoft certified program and it has caused me so much
trouble. I just want it OFF my system. I'm running Windows XP Service Pack
2. Thank you in advance for any help.
