64 Bit Components in Office 2007

Hi -

I see the Office 2007 64 Bit Components in the Enterprise media, but there
doesn't seem to be an explanation for it.
I am assuming that I can install Office 2007 from the 32 Bit installer, then
run the installer for the 64 Bit Components. This would be for Win XP X64
and Vista x64.

Thanks.

The 64-bit components don't seem to do anything. At least, not for me
on Vista x64 RTM.

Hello Baboon,

I assume that the 64 bit components in the Office 2007 Enterprise media you
mentioned should be something like Office64.en-us etc. As I know, such
components, just like Office64.en-us, are the basic language packages for
x64 bit operating system. When you install Office 2007, Office 2007 will
automatically detect whether it is a 64-bit operating system. If yes, the
setup will invoke the 64 Bit Components to continue the installation
process.

Hope this helps!

Ada Pan

Not sure if this is related - been trying for 2 weeks off and on to get
Office 2007 installed on a 2003R2 Citrix server running on AMD64 Server
PS4.0x64. It gets near the end after entering the VLK but errors out.
If I say NO to back out - I can open the apps, but it did not finish
putting icons anywhere. I reinstall with same error, click yes to
remove and left with nothing.

Sound like Office 2007 does not like 64bit or terminal servers.

Are you using a retail (end user) copy of Office 2007?

For the 2007 Office System, only MS Office Enterprise/Volume license products install on Terminal Server/services.
