65,000 record limitation on copy or export to Excel?

B

Bruce

Trying to move about 85,000 rows of data to Excel (now that Excel has approx
1 million rows) and cannot copy and paste due to clipboard limitations; also
get the same error message regarding 65,000 record limit when attempting to
export to Excel.

Why not try linking the Excel sheet into your Access
database as a table using Get External Data then stuff it
with data using an Access append query from your existing
table. I don't know whether you'd hit limits again but must
be worth a try.

You can't update linked Excel tables anymore, Nick, since Microsoft lost the
lawsuit.

Doug having reminded me about the linked worksheet update
limitation the only other thing I can think of is to export
to an appropriate neutral file type, open that in Excel and
then save it as a worksheet.

In this case try comma separated variable format (CSV) using
the Export option from the File menu on either a table or a
Select query which you have created to get the data you
want.
