8/27 Outlook completely freezes/locks. Why?

Today, my Outlook keeps "not responding"/freezing. Just installed a
"critical update" yesterday--could update have caused this new problem?
Don't know WHAT to do. An "error report" went to Microsoft, and came back
saying "a solution is not available for the problem you reported"! This
problem is totally new to me, and I'm baffled, and wary of any/all updates
now. What should I do?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
