97 and XP conversion

I have a computer with Office 97 (PII X 233Mghz) and my laptop has XP professional (P4 X 1.2G). How can I swap files between the two without problems? Should I upgrade to XP? Can someone make any suggestions

Apart from Access, the file formats are unchanged so you don't need to do
anything.
