97 to 2000

How can I get my 97 version database to operate with
Access 2000. My home PC runs XP, work 98. I don't want to
build this thing again as it took me an age.

Make a copy of the Access 97 database, and open it in Access 2000. You'll be
prompted to convert it. Do so, and you should be fine to go.

If, for some reason, you need to convert it back to Access 97 format, look
under Tools | Database Utilities on the menu bar.
