97 to xp

I have Office 97 on my computer. I do not have the disks
that installed this. I have windows 98.

I purchased Office xp professional. I installed the disk,
yet I still have office 97 on my computer after it reboots.
Now it takes a long time to reboot, also.

When you installed Office XP, did you get any error messages?
