97 Will not open my 2003 database

Error message:
Unrecongnized database format then the file extension.
I need to work on a homework assignment and 97 is the only program I can get
to. I did the begining of it on a computer at school which has Access
2003...i think.

Please help!

Access 97 is incapable of opening databases created in newer versions of
Access.

Fortunately, each version of Access since Access 97 has had the capability
to convert back to Access 97 format: it's on the Tools menu, under Database
Utilities.
