What will be the language in which you be teaching this course.? If it is
to be English then don't bother as your students will not be able to
understand you.

Yes, I did and I am totally unrepentant.

If the class is to be given in a language other than English, then that is
just fine. I am more than happy to try and accomodate a poster's efforts
with a language other than his/her mother tongue.

But otherwise I do expect a **faculty member** who is being paid to teach
students to have a better command of the English language than was being
exhibited by this poster. I would not accept being taught in halting
English - I expect to have to struggle with the subject matter but
certainly not with a lack of basic language skills. If I was being taught
by him/her then I would certainly ask for my money back.

Chris,

You make a great point, but it is in the wrong place. This newsgroup is not
a place to flame other people for their language skills. We flame spammers,
people who write in ALL CAPS, and people who put their truncated questions
in the subject line. Oh, add to my list that we also flame Microsoft for the
aspects of their products that stink. Other than that, we try to be nice and
patient with questioners to keep a civil and respectful group.

Thanks, Shyam. My book seems to be the only one that directly addresses
PowerPoint and VBA. This summer I taught my course that uses it with 2003,
2004, and 2007. Everything seems to work best in 2003. Both 2004 and 2007
seem to have some anomalies. I was able to get around them, but I had to
change some of the concepts a bit. If you do decide to use my book, feel
free to contact me, and I can give you some pointers, particularly about
what I might do differently if I were to write it again.

And just so ya know, the page I suggested looking at has your site as the
second link. Which is why I suggested it. ;-)

Thanks, Steve. I knew that.

And who are you folks again? What is VBA?

Aside:
Even I don't remember PowerPoint 3 Steve!

At our age, there are lots of things we don't remember, John.
I'd drag Michael into this, but I don't remember his name.

You're asking ME? ??? ??????????

"Hello, 911. This is the Old Age Home for Very Old MVPs. It seems that two
of our inmates, er, residents have wandered off again. Can you help us
locate them? You can find them by following their trail of bad puns and
references to obsolete features in PowerPoint."

Just put up a sign that says "I can't get my PPT to o'pun". It's like
moths to a flame.

Make that three of the inmates. Two are apparently contagious and have
infected a third.

I'm surprised that it is spreading so fast. Are these inmates still up to
Outlook Express then!
I suspect that they just missed a key shortcut on route to see their friend
Al Zheimer!

cheers

"ZZZINGGGG!" That must be the Texas Swing band "Asleep At The Wheel" your
talking about. I don't believe they are into VBA either.
