A broken link in the Outbox or Sent Items box...

Need_Help!

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I recently tested my Entourage this past weekend with all of my business email addresses which are 14 addresses.

I did a reply to all email and sent it to myself through Entourage just to check and see if all the email addresses would get the email.

When I sent the email to these 14 addresses it seems like the email got "stuck" in Entourage somewhere and keeps attempting to send the email.

I get 14 thumping sounds as Entourage tries to send this email out, yet it's still connection to my ISP because all other emails come through?

So I can still send and receive emails normally, but I need to get Entourage to stop trying to send this 14 reply-to-all email out somehow?

Can anyone out there help me with this or ever heard of it? Someone told me to hit command and the period key at the same time to cancel out any sent emails that don't seem to be working, but so far it hasn't cured the problem.

I appreciate any help or advice given. Thanks a bunch!

Go into your Outbox and delete the message or move it out to another folder.

Need_Help!

I already cleared out my outbox and my sent folder. The message shows nowhere in the Entourage at all, but still hits up 14 times like it's trying to send it. This hasn't gone away for the past week or so.

Do a Spotlight search in Entourage using the top right search box using
the subject of the test message. Click on "all messages" to search the
entire Entourage database. This should locate all copies os the message.

In the future, I advise checking one account at a time to verify.

Something else must be causing the thumping alert you're hearing.
Entourage will make this sound when you have no new mail or when it
can't connect successfully but only once per account. It never makes an
alert sound based on the number of recipients of one message.

Go into Entourage menu --> Preferences... --> General Preferences -->
Notification. Under Sounds UNcheck the three sounds options on the right:

Mail error sound
No mail sound
Reminder sound

Does the sound go away? If so, enable one sound at a time until you
determine which sound you're describing.

Also, go to Window menu --> Error Log. If you see errors there then
report back what they say.
