A Challenge for pros

So, I know this may seem like a crazy question, but I'll just state it and
then let you answer...

I have a form that asks the users questions, allowing personalization for
report generation (for example, i ask the user to specify if they would like
the report on an individual level or on a work group level). There will be
about 4 options for the user to choose from.

During this process, is there any method for showing a preview of what the
report formatting will look like? Not a preview of the actual report itself,
just how the data will be organized. I was thinking maybe something as a
subform to show how the groupings look...

As stated above, this is kind of a crazy question, but figured someone might
have an answer.

Your users should be telling YOU what they want/need rather than you guessing
what they want. Or, did they tell you they wanted this?

I never ask users what they want. I decide what they need and they have to
learn to live with it :)

There is a limited selection of what options they have, such as a report with
description or simply a count. I have built two reports to handle this, so
what I wanted is if they wanted a report built on counts (which is the first
question) then they would be able to see an example of what that looks like.
The pop-up idea works well if that was the only selection they have. At this
point, they can selec the level they want the counts (if that is their
option) to break down to. They can show it at a workgroup lvl, a department
level, director level, or overall business level, all very easily changed on
the report given their selections.

I thought this would be a tough question, but that you for your answers.
