A couple of newbie questions

Danny

Hi.

I'm new to groove. Just installed it together with office 2007. I think it's
a very good tool for team collaboration. Currently we are using sharepoint
for all our central file management. I would like to understand how groove
could improve our collaboration. I'm looking for an introduction.

Do you have a PPT or some other resources. Maybe also with a description of
the groove server? What features are available with the groove "client"
without the server and what features are available with the server?

Sorry for all the question's.

Thanks a lot for your help
Danny

Hi Danny,

Welcome to Groove! :)

For your first question: Groove and SharePoint Services provide the
integrated collaboration environment to help teams and organizations work
together and share inforamtion. Groove, is a rich client for SharePoint,
supporting dynamic team work. SharePoint Services, is a web-based centralized
environment for information sharing and publishing.

SharePoint is ideal for broad information sharing across a team or
organization and business applications and workflow, while Groove is ideal
for very ad-hoc, dynamic teamwork where its critical for team members to be
able to work easily from their PC, with anyone (inside or outside the
organization), and from anywhere (in the office, or disconnected on an
airplane, or at home with the need to VPN into the corporate network).

Beginning with Office 2007, Groove and SharePoint will work better together
to provide the integrated collaboration environment to help teams and
organizations work together and share information more effectively.

For your second question, please go to the following website for more
information:

Hope the information helpful to you!
