Using the checklist starting at step 1, not step 16. Using Access 2003.
1. To secure both FE and BE with same workgroup file, I assume after
following the steps for one file, before rejoining the default workgroup (the
three steps after step 32) I go back to step 11 and repeat the process for
the second file. But for the second file, I do not repeat the modifications
and additions to user and group accounts already set the first time.
Specifically for the second file, I would perform the following steps: 11,
12, 14, 15, 22, no changes in 23, repeat same response as before in 24, no
changes in 25-27, 28, 29, 30, 31, in 32, delete the shortcut if the file
secured is a BE.
2. If the FE is to be an MDE file, can I perform the process on the MDE
file, leaving the MDB unsecured?
3. If I subsequently need to make changes to the MDB file, I would perform
the abbreviated process listed in #1 above, correct?
Thanks,
John
