Hi!
I spent a few weeks testing new Office Outlook 2007 and just wanted to share
a list of a few shortcomings and bugs I have found using the new release.
1.
New message subject spell checking is always performed using the default
language.
Lets say our default language set in Office preferences is Polish.
Now we are writing a message in English. The spell checker correctly detects
English language and when we run spell checking the spell checker uses
English language. This is correct. Except the subject of the message. The
subject language is not detected. It is always treated as it was written in
Polish. Therefore, if the subject is written in English the spell checker
will always find the subject text as incorrect.
2.
Another bug related to the spell-checking module.
To create the bug do the following:
- create 2 different signatures (in two different languages)
- make one of those signatures default for one of your accounts
- in Outlook preferences check the option of including a text of original
message when replying to this message
- in Outlook preferences check the option of excluding quoted message body
from spell checking
- create a reply for any of existing messages
- you should see a text of the original message is quoted in your new message
- you should also see your default signature attached
- write some English words in your new message
- no try to change the signature to the signature written in other language
run the spell checker
- you will see that now the spell checker is also checking the quoted
message which should be excluded from spell checking

Another disadvantage:
- run Outlook
- maximise its window
- now minimise the maximised window to a system tray
- reboot your PC
- run Outlook one again
- you will see that that the maximised window state was not saved
- it is saved only if you close Outlook manually
- when you force Outlook termination by closing Windows the state is not saved
