A few users getting access denied on PWA home page (default.aspx)

I have a handful of users accessing PWA, and getting access denied on the
default.aspx (home page) of PWA, however they can navigate to
/layouts/viewlsts.aspx just fine, and then from there, down to subsite, and
what not... Bear in mind, this works fine for the other 20k users, just this
handful are having trouble.

Users Browser config looks good, same as mine, and issue follows users from
PC to PC. Also, this instance of PWA is running in a MOSS web application,
and users have no trouble accessing other site collections in the same WEBAPP.

This Farm is MOSS 2007/Project Server 2007 - x64

Running on Server 2003 x64
SQL 2005 SP1 x64

MOSS and PSI SP1 installed.
Aug 08 Cummulative updates

Farm version - 12.0.0.6335

3 web front ends, 2 app servers, 1 clustered DB

F5 load balancing

Hi Mossguy,

I am sure you checked it, but are the users actually Project Server users?
If not you will need to add them. In order to check go to the Project Server
Server settings > manage users and check if the users are part of this list.
If not, add the users and let them try again.
Hope this helps
