A form keeps a table open

Hi,
I have read that a split database performance on a network is restored if a
form that is attached to a table is created and the table is kept open.
Can you please explain what practicaly means to keep the table open.

Thanks

Most Access forms are bound to a table by having a table, query or SQL
statement in the forms RecordSource property After all that's the
main purpose of Access, doing data entry, updates or inquiring into
data. So by having a form open at all times then that's all you need
to do.

For more information on these, less likely causes, other tips and
