A laptop without a CD Drive...

I have a laptop that came with Microsoft office 2007 but it has no CD drive,
since it is one of the smaller laptops. It now says I need a product key for
me to actually to do any sort of work. On my other laptop I have installed
the Microsoft office 2007 with a product key. How can I do the same for my
laptop that doesn't have a CD drive?

Different "sizes" of the Office Suite come with licenses for different
numbers of computers -- IIRC Home & Student lets you put it on three
computers. If that's what you have, see if you can use its Product Key
when Word wants you to convert the trial version that came on the
computer into a fully licensed version.

If not, you have to buy the Product Key from Microsoft, and when your
trial period expires (or probably before), it'll tell you how to do
that.

Even though Mircosoft office doesn't say my trail has expired it won't let me
access anything from there. I have tried putting in the product key I bought
with the CD's and the system says it is invalid. The product key has only
been used on one laptop. Even before I put the product key into the laptop
that has it now, the product key entry on the laptop with no CD drive kept
saying it was invalid. I really don't want to have to buy another product key
when I have only already.

The version that came with your laptop will be a trial version. The
indications are that the trial has expired. Your best plan is to uninstall
the trial version on the laptop and assuming that you have the requisite
number of licences to allow you to do so, install the retail version from
your other laptop. As you have no CD drive on the notebook, you can either
install over a network (you'll need a crossover ethernet cable to connect
the laptops, if you don't have a network) or copy the CD to a USB flash
drive and install from that.
