A Little Assistance

S

I am running XP Home.

Have got word 2003 via M/S Office 2003

Am trying to insert a picture into a document (jpg).

When I click on the picture, I get a outline box in my work document. No
picture, just the outline.

When I click on the empty box, I get the nine alignment/sizing dots.

No picture. I can insert a picture in Power Point, so know that jpg is
good.

Selecting Format after box appears has the "Picture" and "Object" selection
grayed out.

I can bring the jpg in as a watermark, just not as a picture.

Appreciate any help.

I don't have Word 2003 but, based on earlier versions, here is a suggestion:

Select from the menu

Tools > Options > View
uncheck "Picture placeholders"

Any better?
